2002 Ski-Doo 800 MXZ Sport Custom Paint

This is another brothers sled that we are doing. He just purchased it August 2005. The former owner must have liked yellow. A little too much for us however, plus the hood was cracked. So, it is time to get the paint gun out!!!
The hood in primer which has had flex additive added.
First I used RM DS30 which is a clear flexible sealer, and then put down a red base.
Next I put BC1815 over the red base. We then put Carizzma Candy Apple Red over the pearl to our desired color.
For more information about Carizzma!
We then masked off the center portion for the next color.
We then painted a white base D902 for better coverage. I purposely let the red "bleed" through the white for a cool effect on the yellow to come, I then painted Ski-Doo yellow as a base color.
We then painted RM Carizzma Candy Yellow with BC1190 White pearl added into the Candy. This seemed to get rid of the "green" side tone that I have not liked with this candy. This has a very nice effect which does not show up here. If you look closely you can also see where the red "bled" through giving a subtle color shifting effect.
Here is a close up of the red and yellow without clear.

Another, and you can see the shifting of color in the yellow in this picture.
I originally cleared this as we were going to "Flame" it with small flames coming out of the scoops. Well with custom painting, plans sometimes change especially when you have been given "full artistic license" :)
Next I put RM Extreme on the side scoops.
And then we added some RM Carizzma Orange candy with BC1190 white pearl and a small amount of BC1815 red pear into the candy color. Outside this looks very orange, inside the red pearl gives it a little copper tint as seen in this picture.
The hood ready for final clear.
The hood final cleared. This is a new clear out of the RM Limco Line, LC4500 which has been flexed. This hood was painted completely with a Sata MiniJet 4.
The hood outside. I don't think anyone will say that this will "blend" into the scenery!!
The hood set on the sled. Just a little difference!
Chromalusion paint in the driver area.
Here is an updated pic of the sled coming together. It will be done soon, and hopefully some pictures of it in the snow!
We have also added a black skid plate and black ski loops. I will post some pictures of the sled as we buff and clean up and assemble the sled.
Here it is with updated windshield, finished for "phase 1".
